I dare you to try a more ostentatious beauty product on the market right now. Clearly, I am a sucker for anything in lavish packaging and if it contains flecks of gold then you can consider that purchase as good as done. However, I will never justify the price tag by claiming it performs better than it actually does. I bought this during the Sephora Spring Sale for 20% off.
This wasn’t a complete letdown, but I think that brands that charge so much for a single product need to start holding themselves to a higher standard. Specifically when it comes to ingredients. This is extremely fragrant and it was disappointing to see that this contained so much alcohol. The bottle is so pretty to look at though. The packaging is excellent and the cap feels very tight so it’s nice to not worry that the gel will evaporate.
This does dry slightly sticky which makes it easier for make-up to adhere to. Although it didn’t do much as far as keeping oiliness at bay when I wore a full-coverage liquid foundation. As a primer, I expect something to work well with heavier make-up. I actually preferred to use this with a tinted moisturizer as it gave my complexion a dewier finish. I will enjoy this while it lasts, but it won’t be a repurchase.
Have you tried this? What did you think?
