I ask that you please read this before going any further. I found that article extremely alarming and I stopped making a majority of my purchases from Amazon. I wrote about other reasons why I have scaled back on utilizing one of the world’s biggest online retailers here.
But ugh, turns out they actually make a really great eye cream.
I realize how shallow this makes me sound but I am nothing if not authentic, right? A friend brought to my attention that Amazon was starting a skincare line. Amazon’s skincare line, Belei, is typical of many skincare brands currently on the market. They have minimalist, spa-esque packaging and tout being free of phthalates, parabens and sulfates. I couldn’t find any information on their R&D nor on the inspiration for its namesake. I personally think it means “you better belei-ve we will take over every aspect of your life, including what you put on your body”. Or maybe Bezos & Co. discovered a way to spy on us that doesn’t involve technology? Maybe this turns us all into robots with long-term use?
Regardless, I really like the Belei Triple-Peptide Eye Cream ($21). I think this is great to use if you’re trying to get ahead of showing signs of aging or are trying to treat dark circles. My crows feet need some work and it would have been much easier on my conscious to claim it didn’t work. However, I think this is a great product. I don’t think this is strong enough if you already have mature, aged skin though. The texture is light and it doesn’t cloud up my eyes when I put it on. Even though a lot of Amazon’s company practices send a chill up my spine, their eye cream doesn’t leave a tingling sensation on my skin. I highly recommend trying this if you are looking for a great eye cream at a reasonable price.
Have you tried any products from Amazon’s latest venture?
