This is easily the most extravagant purchase I will make of 2019. It may take the cake for 2020 as well. I have an affinity for anything that comes in gold.
I hemmed and hawed over whether to fork over the $55 (!!) for this exquisite tube but then waited too long and it was sold out. Well, at that point, I had to have it. I ordered two off of Neiman Marcus but it is now not listed on their website at all. I think it is still available through pre-order (expected to ship late May) on Saks. I am selling my other, unopened one on Poshmark so send me a DM on IG if you are interested.
I got it and immediately did not regret this purchase from an aesthetic standpoint. It’s Liberace chic. I think Tom Ford has some of the best packaging in the game but I tend to covet their beauty products because the price tag is just a bit much for me. The clear, gold-flecked balm is beautiful in person and feels really ample upon its first application. The description said it goes on clear but turns into a “sultry pink”. Ehhhhh, not quite. It looks more Barbie Dreamhouse pink rather than a sensual Brigitte Bardot blush. Frankly, after it dries it looks more cheesy than chichi. I think this shade by itself would actually work better on someone with a darker skin tone. I have been able to layer it under a few of my other nude lipsticks so it’s not a total loss.
I guess I could also always use this to show off incase I am ever featured in USWeekly for “What’s In My Bag”.
Have you tried this? Did it work for you?
