Caroline Guthrie is Director of International Marketing at Tory Burch. She was born and reared in Coral Gables, Florida but currently lives in Manhattan. I knew we were destined to be friends in the drive-thru at the Burger King in Southampton, on Memorial Day of 2010, when she ordered a Whopper instead of a salad. She is the Godmother to both of my children, my mother is constantly asking me how she is, and I think the world of her.
1. What is your skin type?
Combination/does whatever it wants
2. You travel internationally a lot for work, what is your favorite beauty product to bring with you when you’re away from home?
Wipes and dry shampoo are a necessity as I am usually always on the move during work trips. I like Yuni Shower sheets for body and RMS Ultimate Makeup Remover wipes for face. I have tried every dry shampoo on the planet, and the best one I’ve found is Amika. I am also obsessed with Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment when I don’t have time to put makeup on – it evens out skin tone and makes me look a little less scary after a long flight.
3. What product has been in your beauty arsenal the longest?
Cle de Peau concealer in Ivory. I am very disloyal when it comes to most makeup and beauty products, there is just so much out there to try and I am constantly looking for the next best thing. This is the exception – it’s a perfect match to my skin tone and does the job on dark circles and redness.
4. What has been your biggest beauty mishap?
Thinking I could find the right color face makeup without consulting a professional at a counter (i.e. taking my ‘best guess’ on Sephora.com). Mirrors can be deceiving and sometimes your friends don’t have the heart to tell you your face and neck are two entirely different colors.
5. You work with a plethora of fashionable and polished people. What is the best beauty tip you have learned at Tory Burch?
ALWAYS drink coffee or anything dark through a straw..maintain those pearly whites.
